Senate passes Constitutional Amendment Bill 2017

ISLAMABAD: The Senate on Friday handed the Constitutional Amendment Bill 2017 within the senate an afternoon after the National Assembly followed it  by a thumping majority.

The invoice used to be tabled by Law Minister Zahid Hamid. 

The law paves the approach for delimitation of electoral constituencies at the foundation of provisional result of inhabitants census by a thumping majority of 242 votes.

The passage of invoice on Thursday got rid of the final of stumbling blocks within the protecting of 2018 basic elections. Jamshed Dasti used to be the one member who voted towards the invoice moved by Law Minister Zahid Hamid.

Two hundred and forty-two (242) votes have been polled in favour of the modification that required 228 votes to sail in the course of the Lower House of Parliament. The House rejected Jamshed Dasti’s modification to the invoice by majority vote, whilst some other modification used to be withdrawn by Dr Arif Alvi of the PTI.
