SC to announce verdict in Imran, Tareen disqualification case today

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court will announce the verdict in the disqualification case towards Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Secretary General Jahangir Tareen today (Friday).

As consistent with main points, the court  reserved the judgement on November 14 in the case, used to be filed by PML-N’s Hanif Abbasi, heard by a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar.

The petition seeks for the disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and PTI Secretary General Jahangir Tareen for the non-disclosure of belongings, possession of offshore firms, and for PTI being a foreign-aided birthday party.

Abbasi has accused Imran Khan of violating the Income Tax Ordinance (ITO) 1979 by now not pointing out his offshore corporate (Niazi Services Limited) in his remark of belongings and liabilities submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) whilst submitting his nomination papers for contesting other basic elections, together with that of 2013.
