ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Monday confronted barrage of questions from Justice Shaukat Aziz of Islamabad High Court (IHC) over the agreement signed with the Faizabad protesters.
The minister used to be summoned by the top courtroom in Faizabad dharna case.
He knowledgeable the courtroom that an agreement has been reached with the management of Tehreek-i-Labaik Ya Rasool Allah Pakistan (TLYRA), who had occupied a primary freeway to the capital since November 6.
Chief Commissioner Islamabad read out the six-clause agreement ahead of the courtroom which referred to as for resignation of Law Minister Zahid Hamid, revocation of instances towards the birthday celebration leaders and unlock of an inquiry document into the modification of regulation and others.
The internal minister, Secretary Interior Arshad Mirza signed the agreement on behalf of the government whilst a senior army reliable Maj Gen Faiz Hamid acted as a witness to it.
On this, Justice Shaukat sought rationalization from the minister over involvement of a military officer. Under which regulation Gen Hamid acted as a mediator, he requested.
Iqbal confident the courtroom that the sit-in will finish quickly.
Justice Aziz remarked that the protesters have been developing chaos within the capital for the ultimate 21 days however there used to be no motion, the place’s ‘Raddul Fasaad’ he requested, relating to military’s operation aimed toward getting rid of residual / latent risk of terrorism.
